Filipinos for Obama Reception

The national Filipinos for Obama organization did great work this election. I was honored to be there to celebrate Obama's victory tonight with members of the organization who hailed from the West Coast, Midwest, South and East Coast downtown at Cafe Asia. Saw lots of friends from the Bay, LA, East Coast, and the Filipino American National Historical Society, among other networks.

They made a cool T-shirt. KAYA is Tagalog for yes, we can...or rather more literally, "it can be done" or "it is possible." They're selling them for $15.
Ben de Guzman emceeing the reception.

After the reception, we were at the Gallery Place/Chinatown area. In the mall, there's a huge Obama banner and a display about his life history. He's EVERYWHERE you turn this weekend. DC is absolutely in love with our new president. I couldn't imagine a Bush banner like this for his inaugurations.

Seriously, there was a line to take a picture with this picture of Obama.

Donna bought me the commemorative Metro Smartrip Obama card!

Ok, good night. We're going to line up at the gates for the Lincoln Memorial concert tomorrow morning at 8am!
